In July through end-August it is possible to get to know the city from the river on a guided cruise organised by Turku Touring. Guided in Finnish, Swedish and English.

Down by the Laituri - City Festival 27.-1.8.2010

Finland´s oldest and most legendary city festival, Down By The Laituri, will once again be seen and heard in Turku in the summer. With most of the acts performing pop and rock music, this multi-cultural event is centered on the east bank of the River Aurajoki, around the Turku City Theatre.

Turku Castle and Historical Museum

The history of Turku Castle stretches back to the 1280s. The permanent exhibitions in the bailey illustrate the history and culture of Finland, and Turku in particular. The castle also offers theme exhibitions, concerts and events for children and adults alike.
