Communal Student Welfare

Student welfare creates preconditions for solidarity, care and open interaction within the school community. Methods that increase participation also contribute to the prevention of problems, the early identification of problems and organization of required support.

Communal student welfare:

  • the wellbeing of the school community and student groups is monitored, assessed and developed
  • it is taken care of that the school environment is healthy, safe and accessible
  • support for parenting is planned and the co-operation between home and school is strengthened
  • the participation of students and guardians in the operations is emphasized
  • topical questions related to co-operation are covered annually with the transitional period co-operation partners
  • co-operation is conducted with other operators

School-specific communal student welfare group:

  • coordinates the communal student welfare at school
  • assembles at least once a month
  • the principal prepares and leads the meetings together with the responsible teacher
  • the group includes, depending on the subject, teachers, student welfare personnel and other school personnel if need be
  • the representatives of student association and guardians are invited to participate regularly
  • other child and youth welfare officials and operators are invited if need be
