Diaconia University of Applied Sciences provides education in Turku as well as in the Helsinki region, Pori, Oulu and Pieksämäki. Diak education covers the social sector, nursing and interpreting. At Diak, it is possible to obtain qualifications for offices of diaconia and youth work in the Evangelical Lutheran Chuch of Finland. Our course offering at the open university of applied sciences is extensive and we offer working-life training, research and development services as well. We have 3000 students and a staff of 220 persons.

Our Turku campus is located at Old Mill, Kupittaa, Finland. At this campus, it is possible to become an interpreter through the the programme of Sign Language and Interpreting, the graduates of which may work as sign language interpreters and interpreters for people with speech disabilities as well as for other users of augmentative and alternative communication methods. We also offer blended-form Master's-level education in sign language interpreting (90 ECTS).
