Board’s Division

Tasks of the Public Utility Property Management Board include organizing business activities as well as preparing and implementing matters belonging to its field of operation. The board oversees that all activities belonging to its field of operation are conducted according to commercial principles. The tasks of the board are regulated by the Local Government Act.

The tasks of the board also include:

  1. making decisions about public utility investments and other long-term expenses within the limits set by the City Council;
  2. making decisions about the owner supervision of consolidated companies and other partnerships, portions and other similar assets recorded in the balance sheet of the public utility, within the limits set by the City Board’s Concern Section and according to its instructions;
  3. issuing building orders according to 97§ of the Land Use and Building Act;
  4. making decisions about land use agreements;
  5. making decisions about authorizing public events or fetes that last for more than a day or require closing streets to traffic within the limits set by the City Board’s rules of procedure;
  6. approving street plans and plans for parks and other common areas;
  7. making decisions about setting permanent traffic arrangements and traffic control units on the streets and other commonly used traffic areas
