Freehand cooking in the Thompson family

The Thompson family of four – Outi, Don, Laila and junior Olli came along to Eat my Turku purely for interest in good food. As Outi compacts: ”It is much more pleasant to eat good food than bad food”. Don was born in Scotland and his enthusiasm for food comes from his mother. His parents who travelled a lot brought home influences especially from the Spanish kitchen. As for Outi, she admits that she tries out recipes fairly freehand and varies them a lot.

In the kitchen Don’s bravura is Spanish delicacies while Outi prefers to make desserts and is inspired by Indian tastes. The actual bravura, however, comes from Don’s native country. A rich Scottish breakfast is close to their hearts. With small children it can be difficult to focus on cooking every now and then but, fortunately, the older one of the children, Laila, already begins to cook with her parents little by little. They hope that all the family will be cooking in the near future.

For Eat my Turku this busy family enjoyed easy Roberts Berries as snacks straight from the cup and also developed a couple of easy recipes. Outi thinks that the overnight oats will even be a weekly delicacy.
