Ahead of the coming EU elections and the new EU term, the City of Turku and the Region of Southwest Finland have published their EU priorities for the next legislative mandate. The EU should continue to invest in the green transition, competitiveness and accessibility of regions.

Turku receives recognition for climate work among European cities aiming for carbon neutrality
Turku wants to be one of the world’s leading cities in terms of climate and nature. Our goal is to become a carbon-neutral city by 2029. One international dimension in Turku's climate work is the EU Mission ‘100 Climate-neutral and Smart Cities’, for which Turku was selected in 2022. Turku has now received recognition from the European Commission for the City’s pioneering role in the realisation of its Climate City Contract related to the mission.
