Check the reservations
In the Eastern side of Turku, in a cave 40 meters below surface, 105 000 people exercise from August to June.
Two ice rinks
The majority of the people who visit the Varissuo Ice Hall are ice skaters. In addition to figure skaters and junior hockey players of sports teams, the ice is also occupied by ringette, ice hockey, and rinkball groups as well as the ice skaters during public hours. These public hours are open for all and free of charge, but hockey sticks are not allowed.
A well-equipped gym
The gym, with its dressing rooms, washrooms, and saunas for both men and women, is also open for the public. Guidance courses for the use of the gym devices are also organized usually once a month. You can enter the gym with a wristband that has been loaded in advance or with a pay-by-phone one-time fee.
Accessibility and getting around in the hall
You can get into the hall and the gym through the parking hall, from the Suurpäänkatu side. Parking in the parking hall is free of charge.
There is an elevator on the Kraatarinkatu side operating Mon-Fri until 15.30 as an exit route. The elevators can also be used for getting in during the public skating hours, but otherwise the use of the elevators should be agreed on beforehand with the staff of the hall.
Some of the doors in the hall operate with electricity. The gym is fully accessible and equipped with an accessible toilet.
