The exact duration of the public final rehearsal varies depending on the evening’s concert programme and perfprmers. The whole repertoire is played trough. Depending on the conductor and repertoire, also separate sections or parts are practiced, or a part of the repertoire is left out or played more lightly. Final rehearsals are held in Turku Concert Hall, and the entrance is free of charge. The Concert Hall doors are opened around 10.30 am, and the audience is seated few minutes before the rehearsal begins. The cafeteria is not open during the rehearsals.

On the move in October

For men:
Ball games group       
On Tuesdays at 1.45–2.45 pm in Kupittaa Ball Game Hall, Lemminkäisenkatu 32. The activities are instructed (Monipalvelukeskus Tsemppi r.y.) and free of charge. Futsal and floorball. Please arrive on time.

Gym group
On Thursdays at 2–3.30 pm, Suurpäänkatu 2, Varissuo Ice Hall (passage through the back of Hesburger). The activities are instructed (Monipalvelukeskus Tsemppi r.y.) and free.

For women:
Gym slots

On Tuesdays at 1.30–3.00 pm in Kupittaa Sports Hall. Gathering at 1.20 pm at the side of the bowling alley (Koto activity).
On Thursdays at 3.30–5.00 pm, Suurpäänkatu 2, Varissuo Ice Hall (passage through the back of Hesburger).
A female instructor will be present.
Fee: wristbands or single fee by phone 5,47€.

Aerobics
On Modays at 7–8 pm at Varissuo School, Kuopuksenpolku 1
On Wednesdays at 5–6 pm at Varissuo School, Kuopuksenpolku 1
On Thursdays at 6–7 pm at Lauste School, Raadinkatu 7
The activity is instructed (Yhdessä-yhdistys).
Fee: single fee 2,50 € or the Kimmoke Wristband.

Swimming school courses for women and men
A 10-time swimming school course for 15-year-olds.
For women on Saturdays at 4–4.45 pm (13 Oct–15 Dec 2018)

Happenings at museums

27–28 Oct, Kylämäki Village will host an open weekend for exploring handicrafts and design through different materials at the experimental workshop. People of all ages are welcome to experience the joy of handicrafts! Also textile works will be made on this October weekend.
The workshop will be open at 1–5 pm. Workshop fee 3,50€/8 €.

The Biological Museum will organise a gathering for crafting bird feeder houses at the Kylämäki Village experimental workshop on 13 Oct at 10.00 am–3.00 pm. Workshop fee 8 €/feeder.

At Turku Castle:
On 13 Oct at 12.00–3.00 pm, the Princess Course
In this popular course, you will hear about the real princesses of the olden days, practice courtliness, and prepare objects necessary for princesses. For children over the age of 5. Fee 30 €, Knight Club members 25 €, incl. materials.

On 13–28 Oct, Dreadfulnesses of the History – tours for children and young people at the school age
The Dreadfulnesses of the History are directed to children and young people at the school age. The age limit for the tour is 11 at the minimum. Entry fee: Adults 14 € and Children (11–15 years old) 8 €.

Finnish language and cultures at the Main Library

Explore countries and cultures, Main Library Studio on Tuesdays at 6.00–7.30 pm.
A series of lectures on cultures around the world. Rather than academic expertise, the lectures focus on personal experience and knowledge. The lectures are organised in cooperation with the ”Ocean in a Drop – Developing Together/Pisarassa Valtameri – Kehitytään Yhdessä” organisation.

Lango networking evening for organisations on 24 Oct at 6–8 pm
Lango is a free mobile application that is used for searching a language buddy. It works also on the computer. You sign up via Facebook and give information about yourself and the languages you want to learn plus the ones you know already. The app gives you suggestions about language buddies with whom you can talk anywhere at a time that suits both. Welcome to hear more and network over a cup of coffee! The Lango website: www.LanGo.fi

Language Café
At the Language Café, you can practice the Finnish language by speaking it in a cosy atmosphere. Knowing the basics is recommended. Joining is free of charge. Organised at the Main Library, the Language Café is hosted by volunteers from the Finnish Red Cross.

In these courses, you get to learn new words and practice speaking and writing in Finnish. Furthermore, you get to explore the Finnish culture and library. The course is free of charge. Turku Women’s Centre is responsible for the instruction.

DaisyFootball 6 Oct 2018 at 10–3 pm at Impivaara Football Hall, Eskonkatu 1!
This sports event for the whole family is a football festival that brings together amateur teams, football enthousiasts, athletes, and friends of sports. The event will also feature a playful football match for children if enough eager players are willing to participate. Everyone participating will be awarded! The programme includes football matches, a goal radar, children’s exercise point, and face painting. You can buy coffee, tea, juice, and snacks at the event. There is also a space where you can eat your own packed lunch.

International Dads’ Group
The group gathers on the Fridays of even numbered weeks: every other Friday 12 Oct, 26 Oct, 9 Nov, 23 Nov, and 7 Dec 2018 at 6–8 in the family house Heideken’s Marakatti, Sepänkatu 3. The activities are diverse and the group members are free to plan together what they wish to do during the meetings. Please inform your possible allergies when registering!
