Turku Rock Academy’s executive director Tomi Arvas tells that this kind of events are clearly important for the youth. – Products offered by Finnish top manufacturers are rarely available at music stores as they are often made to order. Therefore, it is often not possible to test the products before purchase decision. We wanted to make the goods available for the youth to see and try out, Arvas says.
The manufacturers also saw the need for this kind of events. Turku Rock Academy’s executive producer Mark Bertényi tells, that all were instantly excited about the initiative and ready to get involved because the manufacturers of custom products need a forum to showcase their products to the next generation of musicians.
The events are free and open to everyone and the manufacturers themselves will be present to talk about their products and instruct on how to properly use them. The Laboratory -event series will continue next spring and bring even more top goods for the youth to test at Aura Brewery.
The Laboratory series is kick started on 23.10. by Kumu Drums. Founded in 1984, Kumu Drums is a small Finnish family business that makes high-quality drums by hand. Kumu drums are known for their fabulous sound and gorgeous looks, as well as many unique details. The design of Kumu drums has received acclaim all over the world.
Monster Boutique Amplifiers take over Aura Brewery on 7.11. (The original event date has been postponed due to illness.) The product development of Monster tube amplifiers began in Forssa in 1969 and the latest additions are the completely renewed Monster Pineland product family, as well as the Visual Clone Guitars and Tribute Series.
In the last Laboratory of the Autumn on 20.11., we will explore the world of custom guitars. Vuorensaku Guitars is a one-man guitar shop from Jyväskylä. Luthier Saku Vuori does repairs, maintenance and custom jobs. In late 2014, Vuorensaku's first collection, "The T. Family", was born.
All Laboratories are hosted at the Aura Brewery and they are free and open to all. All events begin at 5 pm.
