Social Emergency Services

In all urgent social work matters regardless of the age of the person concerned, please call tel. 02 262 6003 during office hours (on weekdays from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm). Outside office hours, please call the Emergency Call Centre (112), and they will connect your call.

Social Emergency Services aim to safeguard essential needs and to provide help in urgent situations 24/7 for all those in need of care, protection, and help.

During office hours

During office hours (on weekdays from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm), Social Emergency Services provide urgent social services for people of all ages living in Turku or staying in the municipality. Social Emergency Services receive and are in charge of child welfare notifications and other contact and notifications in accordance with the Social Welfare Act. Social Emergency Services provide guidance and counselling related to social services. Social Emergency Services evaluate a child’s need for urgent social services and performs urgent relocations of children when necessary. In addition to emergency social work, the unit is responsible for organising psycho-social support during accidents and crisis situations.

Outside office hours

Outside office hours, Social Emergency Services provide urgent social services for people of all ages living or staying in a municipality belonging to the Southwest Finland Region (Varsinais-Suomi), except for the municipalities of the Vakka-Suomi subregion.

Municipalities belonging to the remit of the Social Emergency Services are: Aura, Kaarina, Kimitoön/Kemiönsaari, Koski TL, Lieto, Loimaa, Marttila, Masku, Mynämäki, Naantali, Nousiainen, Oripää, Paimio, Pargas/Parainen, Pöytyä, Raisio, Rusko, Salo, Sauvo, Somero, and Turku.
