The seven Service Centres, in addition to the Central Administration, operate under the governance of the City Board:
- Procurement and Logistics Centre
- Human Resources Service Centre
- IT Services
- Tourism Service Centre Visit Turku
- Debt Councelling
- Occupational Health Care
- Employment Services
The task of a service centre is to produce services that Turku City Board has decided to provide for the City and external clients. The Director of a service centre is subordinate to City Board’s Concern Section and the Mayor, and directs and supervises the development, finances and operations of the service centre, as well as the achieving of the goals set for it.
The Mayor defines which tasks are assigned to the Directors of the service centres and also defines their management and reporting. Furthermore, the Mayor decides on the net budgets of each service centre.
