Maiden of the River Aura

The Maiden of the River Aura is a multidisciplinary audiovisual work. It is based on a mystical spirit, the Maiden of the River Aura, who travels through time from history to today. This is set against a sound world that, in addition to a melody, describes the character’s growth story in words and contains observations in prose form. The work highlights the significance of the River Aura as a waterway and reminds us of the importance of cherishing the river area and its diversity.

The video work was created with support from the Fund for enhancing the beauty of City of Turku. The Fund for enhancing the beauty of City of Turku is an endowment fund whose assets can be used for various purposes, such as the improvement of parks, the acquisition of information signs, outdoor sculptures and works of art, as well as for maintenance work and the removal of unwanted graffiti.
