This will be achieved by producing a variety of environments and services for exercise for all citizens as well as for organised sports associations. We work in partnership with NGOs and other administrative boards and partners.
The main services provided include:
The sports institutions and services subordinate to the Sports Committee offer various possibilities and environments for sports and physical exercise. The Sports Committee supports sports clubs and organizations by providing grants.
The Sports Committee makes decisions about sport facility and service fees, exemptions, discounts and the general principles of facility booking among other things.
The Sports Committee consists of 13 members and an equal number of vice members chosen by the City Council for its operating period.
Immigrants are welcome to use all services organized by the Sports Services Centre. All Turku residents can also participate in multicultural activities. Gym, swimming and ball sports are offered seperately to men and women.
Participation at half price for immigrants who have lived in Turku for less than three years (i.e. are covered by the Act on the Integration of Immigrants), or are participating in KOTO activities.
