Finns and persons staying in Finland can get help in emergency situations by calling the emergency number 112. The police, rescue services, patient transportation and social services are all available in urgent need for help.
Always call 112 in urgent emergency situations, such as in case of a sudden attack of illness, unconsciousness or if someone’s life is in danger. If you are unsure whether a situation is an emergency or not, it is always better to call and ask. The emergency services helpline will assess what kind of help is needed and will give you advice.
If there is no immediate life-threatening situation, patients requiring urgent treatment should first attend their local health station between 8.00 and 15.30. Your postcode determines your local health station.
