As a resident of Turku you have been assigned with your own local health station based on your residential area, but you may change your own health station if you wish. You can also choose health centre services more broadly from other municipalities than your place of domicile.
Changing a health station within Turku affects only the practices of health station nurses and doctors.
If your appointment to a health centre doctor requires a check-in, please arrive approximately fifteen minutes in advance. Take your KELA card (social insurance card) with you.
No check-in is required for nurses’ appointments. Please wait in the waiting area until you are called.
Invalid Scald ID.
When you call a health station, a nurse will evaluate your situation and in urgent cases will guide you to a practice during the same day. In non-urgent cases you may also book an appointment for a nurse or doctor via the electronic service.
The health stations’ telephone lines for appointment booking are open from Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 15.30. Please see your health station's contact information for possible exceptions to the opening hours. Listen to the instructions given by the phone service carefully:
Your local health station is the first place to visit in all cases of illness.
Your local health station provides basic health care services and referrals for further examinations and treatment. Health stations also support self-care: you may book an appointment for health counselling, measure your blood pressure at a self-service point and participate in the Welfare Division’s group activities.
