Living district of the future

The Campus and Science Park area is a research institution and business hub in Turku. Within walking distance from city center, this hub is a home to the University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University, Turku University of Applied Sciences, Hospital District of Southwest Finland, and over 3000 companies and associations. Approximately 17500 people work and 30000 people study in the area.

Development of the Campus and Science Park area is one of the spearhead projects that have been derived from the city strategy. The intention of the project is to connect the development of the physical and functional environments. It is also important to link the worlds of higher education and business to the project. The aim of the Campus and Science Park project is the high quality planning and implementation of land use, housing, construction, and traffic. This will strengthen the growth of a magnetic city and urban environment as well as the development of the city’s service channels.
