Despite its modest name, Vähätori square is a piece of idyllic Central Europe in the North. The pleasant and historic Vähätori square offers a great setting for events.

Vähätori square is located in a beautiful and central place in the heart of Turku. The pleasant square under the linden trees is surrounded by buildings of historic interest, such as the old Turku Main Library. The beautiful Kirjastosilta bridge connects the area to the Old Great Square on the opposite bank of the river.

Vähätori square is one of the most popular meeting points in Turku, and the side of the square has many shops and restaurants.

In the summer in particular, the square is used as a venue for several markets, such as the annual International Grand Market and the Artisan Market. Vähätori square has also hosted several festivals, such as the folk music and dance festival Europeade and the Brewery Festival. A stand for 500 spectators was also once constructed in the square for a play.
