Barkerinpuisto park is a small park on the west bank of the Aurajoki river that offers a great view of the river.

Barkerinpuisto park is located by the Aurajoki river, close to Föri and Kakolanmäki. It was named after the Barker factories that used to stand on the site.

The park is popular for strolling and walking through, and it also has a children’s playground. From the park, you can easily cross the river by using the Föri city ferry.

The park has hosted markets and flea markets. In addition, the park has also been part of the Tall Ships Races event area.

Transport links and parking: The venue is located about 1.5 km from the Turku city centre. The venue can easily be reached by local buses from both Turku city centre and the Port of Turku.

Practical considerations:

  • The children’s playground in the middle of the park must be taken into consideration when organising an event. The park also contains flower beds, the Turku työllä rakennetaan sculpture and a statue of Jarno Saarinen.
  • Small events, there are residential buildings next to the park.
  • No large festivals.
  • Can be used until 10 p.m.
  • A limited amount of events per summer.
  • The road, traffic control, Föri and ships must be taken into account.
