More Than a Game
- Opens 25 June
- Veritas Stadium second floor
- Free entrance
Only a Game? was on display at Logomo last year and was visited by 193,000 people. The Veritas Stadium's exhibition is similar to the Logomo exhibition, and has been constructed by the Belgian production company Album.
More Than a Game will continue the tradition set by Only a Game? of describing the people behind football.
Football creates a strong patriotic fervour, but can the game open our eyes to other cultures? Can we see Europe in a different light through football? How does football unite and separate us?
Designed for all ages, the exhibition draws the visitor into the emotions created by football. It brings forth fascinating details about the significance and history of European football, while not forgetting to mention some of today's top players.
Messi, Kaka and Scholes' signed shirts as well as those belonging to other players take pride of place at the exhibition, as do Francesco Totti’s boots.
The Football exhibition is produced by UEFA. The Turku District of the Finnish Football Association is responsible for its maintenance.
More Than a Game is funded by the Turku 2011 Foundation in order to continue the legacy of Capital of Culture year.
