Youth Services

Youth Services (formerly Youth Services Centre) carries out the basic tasks of youth work as defined in law: to support young people's growth and independence, to promote the active citizenship of youths, to socially empower youth and to improve the conditions in which they are raised and live.

Our mission is to support a positive upbringing for children and youths.

Youth Services' main areas of activity are:

  • Youth facilities and local services for youths

  • To promote practical creative work and creativity

  • Cultural, multicultural and international youth work

  • To promote youth employment (Employment Workshops)

  • Improving young people's opportunities to participate in and influence society
  • Improving young people’s supervision and preparation for education (NOSE)

  • The provision of morning and afternoon activities for schoolchildren

  • Cooperation with other departments, unit and sections to encourage the well-being of children and young people in Turku

  • Support for youth organisations and young people's own activities
