Family work is a form of support for families who have a need for social support. Family work is done at the client's home or in groups. The evaluation of the dedicated social worker of the family is required for receiving the service.
If the family has difficulties in coping with its everyday life such as the childcare or a sudden or a prolonged crisis, a family worker can support the family to cope with the situation. The family worker searches for networks that support the daily life of the family together with the family. The family work can prevent the need for other child protection measures.
The goal is
- to support the client families in difficult situations
- to safeguard the best interest of the child
- to strengthen the resources of the family
- to make sure that the family can cope with the situation on its own in the future
