FAQ: Turku Future Hackathon

We have gathered here some questions and answers regarding participation in Turku Future Hackathon:

According to the contest website, the purpose of the contest is to create an app or an app concept. However, the website also includes a mentioning that, instead of an app, the work can also be an idea, a concept or a business plan. We were wondering within our group whether we can participate in the contest solely with an idea or a concept rather than by developing an app?

Yes, you can also participate with a work that is not technical (an app, a www service or a demo), and programming experience is therefore not required/necessary.

How much programming experience do you need to enter the competition?

You don’t necessarily need any experience. If necessary, contest teams will be formed in a way that combines different sorts of know-how.

What is the schedule of the contest?

The contest starts on Friday 29 September at 1 p.m. Presentations for the jury begin on 1 October at 1 p.m. The detailed schedule of the days will be published later on this website.

Is it possible to stay overnight at the contest location?

It is possible to work around the clock in the contest space but there are no accommodation facilities available.
