Pregnancy and Childbirth

The Maternity Clinic looks after the health and well-being of the expected child and the entire expectant family. The service is meant for families residing in Turku and for people who study in Turku. If you live outside Turku and still wish to receive your child welfare services from Turku, you must acquire a payment commitment from your municipality of domicile or make a notice of removal to Turku.

The Maternity Clinic offers you the practices of public health nurses and doctors, as well as ultrasound and fetal screening. A pre-natal parent training session and a post-natal house call are also offered for first-time mothers and families.

You may contact the public health nurse on Monday to Thursday between 8.15 and 14.00 and on Friday between 8.15-11.Every first wednesday of month 8.15-11. During the phone hour you can book appointments or ask for information. The number provides a call-back service; listen to the taped message until the end and act according to instructions, and a nurse will call you back as soon as possible.
