Termination of Pregnancy (Abortion)
- Contraception Clinic (in finnish)
- Turku University Hospital Gynaecological Outpatient Clinic (vsshp.fi, in finnish)
Take a pregnancy test to make sure you are pregnant. Pregnancy tests can be bought from pharmacies and stores. You can also contact your local health station where a pregnancy can be discovered from a specimen of urine in a laboratory.
If you wish to continue your pregnancy, please contact a maternity clinic in your area.
For a person considering termination of pregnancy
Book an appointment to a health station in order to get a medical report and a referral for termination of pregnancy. The referral does not bind you into anything. It is important to contact a doctor quickly because there are certain constrictions to termination of pregnancy. The duration of pregnancy is calculated from the first day of your last menstruation.
After visiting the Contraception Clinic you need to book an appointment to the Turku University Hospital Gynaecological Outpatient Clinic. You can discuss the termination of pregnancy and the questions you may have with a nurse and a doctor. Also, a further contraception method suitable for you will be considered during this appointment.
