Let's go skating and skiing!

Ice skating

When the winter is cold enough in Turku, you can ice skate on natural ice rinks that can be found around the city. In case the temperature is not right for natural ice to form, you can head to the Park Field artificial ice rink or Kupittaa ice skating rink (‘luistelumato’) which is free of charge. From August to March it is possible to ice skate in Impivaara and Varissuo ice halls during public hours, also free of charge.

Skiing tracks

When the winter offers enough snow, the City of Turku maintains around 50 kilometers of skiing tracks on jogging trails. When there is little snow, only the Nunnavuori skiing track and its additional loops will be maintained with snow cannons and transferred snow.

Information about the conditions of skiing tracks in Turku can be found on the Latuinfo website. The site has a table which is updated daily during the skiing season.

Skiing equipment can be rented from the Impivaara ski rental service. It is located behind the Impivaara football hall. From the rental service you can rent maintained skiing equipment for both classic and skating style skiing, for both children and adults.
