The Pharmacy Museum and the Qwensel House

  • The Christmas Table Settings exhibition 1 December – 6 January
    The exhibition presents the Christmas traditions of a gentry family at the turn of the 18th century, during doctor Pipping’s era. Christmas delicacies have been set out in the hall and in the chambers, and the house is filled with Christmas cheer. Museum’s entrance fee.

  • Fortunes told for the new year 31.12. 1 pm – 4 pm
    You can have your fortune told from cast beeswax and cups in the wagon shed in the courtyard. Museum’s entrance fee.

Kylämäki Village

  • Candle weekend at the Test Workshop on 28–29 November at 1–2 pm, 2–3 pm and 3–4 pm
    Come and cast atmospheric candles into small containers at the Test Workshop. Bring your own small jar or a coffee cup, for example. Workshop fee €6 / 2 small candles. Each group can have a maximum of 15 participants at a time. Sign up
     
  • Christmas in the old days 8.–13.12. Tue–Fri 9am – 2pm, Sat–Sun 11am – 5pm
    Christmas preparations are in full swing in this rural village. The matron of Iso-Kohmo is busy at the stove, and the kitchen is filled with the enticing aromas of gingerbread cookies, traditional rutabaga casserole and lutefisk. In the master’s chamber, the radio plays Christmas carols.
     
  • Christmassy Crafts at Kokeiluverstas 12.–13.12. at 12 noon–1 pm, 1–2 pm and 2–3 pm
    Each group can have a maximum of 15 participants at a time. No workshop fee. Sign up

Luostarinmäki

  • Luostarinmäki Christmas opening on 28–29 November at 10 am–4 pm
    Christmas preparations are carried out both in the homes of Luostarinmäki and the artisans’ workshops. Museum’s entrance fee.
     
  • Christmas time in Luostarinmäki from 1 December 2020 to 6 January 2021
    Christmas has come to the kitchens and bedchambers of Luostarinmäki. How did the inhabitants of Luostarinmäki spend Christmas? What was eaten at different times and how were homes decorated? Christmas preparations are carried out in the bakery and the cobbler’s family, and Christmas is celebrated e.g. in the sailor’s and mason’s families. Museum’s entrance fee.
     
  • Luostarinmäki at lantern light 3.–20.12. (not 6.12.) Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 4 pm
    Come and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere at Luostarinmäki by taking a guided tour by lantern light! Take a tour through the alleys of Luostarinmäki after dark and learn more about life in the dark season and around Christmas time. Museum’s entrance fee + guiding fee 3 €. Sign up
     
  • Museum shop Christmas event on 5 December at 9 am–5 pm
    Come and shop for Christmas gifts at the Luostarinmäki museum shop. When you buy a product from the museum shop, you will receive a warming cup of glogg from Café Kisälli against the receipt. The offer is valid on Saturday 5 December. Christmas greeting from the Puolalanmäki Upper Secondary School vocal ensemble in front of the museum shop at 12 noon.
     
  • Children’s Christmas adventure on 12–13 December at 10 am–3 pm
    Old-time Christmas traditions and fun for the whole family!
    Children’s Christmas adventure tours give you the chance to solve clues left by an elf. Tours at 10 am, 12 noon and 2 pm. Each tour can include 10 children and one adult per child. Museum’s entrance fee. Sign up for the tour in Finnish
     
  • Knut’s Day for the entire family 12 January 10 am–4 pm
    Come and celebrate the end of the Christmas season in Luostarinmäki! Come and make the transition from the holiday season to everyday life and carry out tasks on the topic. At the end, you get to meet the real Nuuttipukki and say goodbye to Christmas! Museum’s entrance fee.

Turku Castle

    The Castle Elf and his loyal helpers Murri the cat and Susi the wolf know the stories of the castle residents dating back over 700 years. The tour includes stories told by Murri and Susi.     In the halls of the period rooms of Turku Castle, the tables are laden with Christmas delicacies in the style of the 17th–19th centuries.
