During autumn 2020 the support given to international talents through the Empower Wednesday program was so appreciated that 100% of participants found the program useful for building their career and networks. The program lasted for 13 weeks on Wednesday afternoons. The topics went from personal branding in social media and how to find “hidden jobs” to starting up a business.
After the autumn success all Empower Wednesday partners decided to organize another series of online events. Empower Wednesday 2021 Spring will start on the 24th of February and run until the end of May. The events are in English and free of charge.
The idea of the program was created as a collaboration with local Turku organizations already active in the field of employability and then coordinating their expertise to create a new intensive program for international talents.
The spring program will repeat some of the successful topics like how to find hidden jobs and networking with Finnish companies and international talents.
New topics requested by the participants include LinkedIn clinic and network building in Finland. Many of the speakers are successful international talents themselves, sharing their experiences and knowledge to empower fellow international talents.
Empower Wednesday is a part of Talent Turku network activities. Talent Turku brings together services related to international talent attraction, retention and integration in Turku and Southwest Finland. Talent Turku activities aim to make the area more attractive for international talents and their families.
