The City of Turku extends the recommendation on wearing face masks to cover all grade levels in City of Turku schools as well as morning and afternoon clubs. Similar recommendations were already set for Pansio School on 18 March and Lauste School in the morning of 19 March.

LATEST INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS

- We must now put health first. The objective is to beat coronavirus in schools over the next few weeks, says Director of the Education Division Timo Jalonen.

The pupils will be provided masks by their own school, but they can also bring their own masks if they wish. Enough masks will be provided for pupils during school days. Teachers will instruct pupils on how to use the masks. The City of Turku would like to remind that masks should also be worn when travelling by bus and school taxis.

Instructions on wearing masks:

When symptoms occur, the easiest way to get tested for coronavirus is through Omaolo

If the student experiences symptoms matching coronavirus, the guardian can complete a coronavirus symptom assessment for them through the Omaolo service at any time of the day. Turku residents can book a time slot for testing directly through the service.

Help with matters related to coronavirus is also available through the centralised coronavirus helpline of school and student health care, tel. +358 2 266 2012 (Mon-Fri between 8 am and 11 am).
