The application period for morning and afternoon activities in the academic year 2022–2023 will begin in December. The spot is applied for electronically through Wilma.

The application periods for morning and afternoon activities for the 2022–2023 school year are:

  • newcomers: 23 December 2021 – 16 January 2022 and 15 March 2022 – 31 March 2022
  • for second-year pupils and for pupils in other years with a decision for special support: 20 December 2021 – 31 March 2022
  • Schools will start on Wednesday, 10 August 2022

Morning and afternoon activities are intended for pupils in the first and second grades of basic education and for special education pupils in other grades. The activities will be carried out in accordance with the principles of morning and afternoon activities in basic education defined by the Finnish National Board of Education. The starting point is high-quality and comprehensive afternoon activities throughout the City of Turku area.

In Turku, operations are organized and coordinated by the city’s Education Division. The operations are produced by the City of Turku and by various service providers. The activities are carried out by professional instructors. Afternoon activities are organized in school premises, or in the City of Turku parish and organization spaces located in the vicinity of the school. The aim of afternoon activities is to support educational cooperation between home and school, to prevent social exclusion and to increase children's participation. Participation in the activities is subject to a fee.

Applying through Wilma

Afternoon activity spots can be applied for one school year at a time. The application is made through the Wilma system using an internet browser. It is not possible to apply via the Wilma phone application. The notification about receiving the afternoon activity spot will be sent electronically via the Wilma system by the end of May.
