On Turku Day, 18th of September, students will have the possibility to get to know Turku through a cheerful Appro!

The City of Turku invites students from Turku to explore their student town on Turku Day, 18th of September. The Appro is free of charge. At the Appro, participants visit different Turku Day events and collect stamps to their Appropass. After collecting enough stamps, participants will get an overall badge for finishing their degree.

The Turku Day Appro is held for the second time. Appro offers a fun and interesting way to celebrate Turku Day with friends. There are many events participating in Turku Day Appro and they are all free of charge. The participating events include the museums of Turku Museum Center, City hall, Turku society’s Förishop and Kakolanmäki hill.

There is no need to preregister for the Appro, however there are only 800 Appropasses available. The Appropasses can be picked up from the Appro Info tent, starting from 10 am on Turku Day. The Info tent is at the Old Great Square (Vanha Suurtori).

You have between 10 am and 6 pm to complete the Appro and stamped Appropasses are exchanged for overall badges until 6.45 pm. Six stamps are required to obtain the overall badge of the Appro. The Appro has two levels: with 9 stamps you achieve the title of “Junantuoma turkulaine” (a citizen of Turku that arrived by train), and with 12 stamps you achieve the title of “Paljasjalkane turkulaine” (a barefooted Åboriginal). By completing the upper levels, you will also receive the legendary “Kiss my Turku” badge.

Gather your own “Turku society”, put on your overalls and go on an adventure in Turku!
