Traffic
The area of Skanssi is situated approximately 4 kilometres away from the centre of both Turku and Kaarina, on the border of the two municipalities. Bicycle highway alongside Uudenmaantie will take you quickly both ways and you can get to Turku, Kaarina and the Kupittaa station easily by bus. For longer journeys the Turku-Helsinki highway is close by.
By the early 2030s, approximately 8 000 inhabitants will have moved into the new area of Skanssi where a green environment meets new technical solutions. The two-way district heating network that will be used in the area is likely to be the first of its kind in the world.
