Life in Turku – Elämää Turussa – are stories about people, people from Turku and friends of Turku. Ordinary everyday life and things to do with it, exceptional moments and turning points, work, and childhood. Turku's stories are the stories of its residents and their history.
The Linnanniemi area, located on the furthest tip of the Turku peninsula, will experience major changes over the next decades. The top ten competition proposals of an idea competition held in 2020 have been used in the planning of the area.
The winning proposition of the Linnanniemi idea competition was a proposal titled Kolme palaa (‘Three pieces/Three on fire/Three returns’) by the Lithuanian-Finnish group After Party. In the proposal, the museum building is placed on the waterfront in the current port area.
A whole new museum will be built in Turku!
The new Museum of History and the Future will create experiences and be a source of inspiration and a domestic and international cultural destination. The museum will become a meeting place for the people of Turku.
