Under section 8 c of the disability services act, personal assistance refers to the essential assistance of a person with severe disabilities at home and outside the home: Daily activities, work and studies, hobbies, social participation or the maintenance of social interaction. The purpose of personal assistance is to help a person with severe disabilities implement their choices in the above-mentioned activities.
An application for support measures or services from the services for persons with disabilities is made in writing. The application must be accompanied by a statement from the health centre doctor and, if necessary, other expert opinions and reports. A social worker or a service manager will first agree on either an office or home visit, during which the customer's needs are assessed by drafting a service plan. The services to which the customer is entitled to are recorded into the service plan.
The primary aim is to meet the needs of children and young people (under 18 years of age) with basic services. If the basic services are not sufficient or suitable, special services can be arranged for the child based on an assessment of the individual service needs. The following services can be provided for children with disabilities and long-term illnesses: support for informal care, temporary care, autism coaching, special family work, school children's holiday activities and institutional care.
The City of Turku is looking for employees for short-term substitutions and temporary work in social welfare and health care. Through shorter substitutions, there is also a good opportunity to work in longer substitutions. First, submit an electronic substitution application form, after which you can come and register with us, with or without an appointment.
Open in August 2021
The groups’ phone numbers can be found on Wilma or from the homepage of the day care centre
