The Mathildedal ironworks is representative of rugged 19th century industry and the ironworks milieu at its best. Viktor Zebor Bremer established the ironworks in 1852. Today the factory area serves as a cultural tourist spot. The services offered in the naturally beautiful ironworks area, situated at the gateway to the archipelago, are open year-round.

Sigyn Hall is built in the grounds of the shipyard hall completed in 1928 and the rope factory built in 1934.
