The Christmas Path invites all the citizens to the city centre.
The Christmas Path is a combination of christmas lights, events and pretty shop window decorations during the entire Christmas season.
The City of Turku, some other organizations, and all the more than 300 members of Turun Ydinkeskustayhdistys (Turku city centre association) are participating in the Christmas Path.

The Christmas tree of Turku Cathedral is a popular landmark during Christmas time, and many people attend the annual event of lighting up the tree’s lights.
This year the grand tree will be delivered and set up on Wed 25 November 2020 and the lights on the tree will be lit on the last weekend of November. The tree will shine its light throuhout the christmas time.

Persons who have brought a humanitarian/peace message have traditionally donated an object as a concrete symbol of their message. These objects are kept in the Brinkkala Mansion at the Old Great Square in a glass cabinet known as the Showcase for Peace. It is possible to go and see the objects during the opening hours of the mansion.
Also, the Declaration of Christmas Peace is read aloud to all of Finland from a balcony in the Brinkkala Mansion.

The Finnish Broadcasting Company will televise the ceremony of Ecumenical Christmas in Turku. The recording will be broadcast on Yle TV1 on Christmas Eve, approximately one hour before noon when the Declaration of Christmas Peace is read.

The Christmas Season in Turku starts during the last weekend in November when the christmas lights will be lit on the pedestrian street and around the the city. Also the Christmas Tree of Turku Cathedral will get its delightful lights that will continue to shine through the whole christmas time.
The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting also the events during christmas time. Further information about the events will be given at the end of November.

This year’s tree was found in Tammialho in Masku, on the residential plot of Antti Koivisto.

The Library Bridge gained a Christmas-themed soundscape, with the beautiful scenery of changing lights being an original feature of the bridge.
