Two ice rinks
The majority of the people who visit the Varissuo Ice Hall are ice skaters. In addition to figure skaters and junior hockey players of sports teams, the ice is also occupied by ringette, ice hockey, and rinkball groups as well as the ice skaters during public hours. These public hours are open for all and free of charge, but hockey sticks are not allowed.
Impivaara Ice Hall is located at the Impivaara Sports Centre approximately 3 km from the City Centre. The ice hall has two rinks, and around 130 000 friends of ice sports visit the hall every year. The majority of visitors are underage, such as day care and school groups as well as junior teams of sports clubs. The later evening time slots are usually for older skaters.
One of the two ice rinks is reserved for public use a couple of times per week. These public hours are open for all and free of charge, but hockey sticks are not allowed.
