Europeade is distinctly the largest annual celebration of folk culture in Europe. The five-day long event rolls out skilled and colourful shows from performance halls and stages to the streets and city squares. It is a celebration of folk music and dance for all ages, the meeting point of art and culture that brings European people together.
Europeade displays five days full of performances around the city. The event also hosts an opening and a closing gala, a parade, a choral concert and several workshops. Finnish folk dancers and musicians as well as folk culture associations have a prominent role in organizing the event, as well as in introducing Finnish culture to our contemporaries from other European cultures.
Europeade begins with Joki - Ån at Varvintori on 26 July at 20.00. The performance is put together with 300 dancers, musicians and singers from Turku-area.
