The Mobile Library Tour is a concept organised by the City of Turku's Cultural Spearhead project and the library services. The Mobile Library Tour brings summery cultural activities to the bus stops of the mobile library, thus adding the art and culture offering in the different residential areas of the city.
Everyone can experience and be included in art and culture.
The intermediate space model is a pilot project organised by the city of Turku’s Cultural Spearhead Project to make vacant spaces available for a fixed period and free of charge through an open application process. The model provides venues for artists to work in and creates uses for temporarily vacant spaces in Turku. The artistic activities in these spaces also contribute to creating new and surprising urban culture.

The pop-up art programme, organised by the city of Turku’s Cultural spearhead project, is a new model that aims to enrich the city’s arts and culture offering. The programme looks for participatory and short-term art activities to enliven the urban environment and to create unexpected encounters with culture and art in everyday life.

The residents of Turku like to call their city the festival capital of Finland. Music, theatre, art, sports, food and film festivals are organised nearly every weekend, and the range of other cultural activities is likewise huge. Turku also offers a variety of hobbies, catering for all tastes with its 3,658 associations. When you add the nearby municipalities and their associations to this number, you are sure to find a suitable hobby and like-minded people.
With the Senior Wristband and Senior Card 65-year-olds and older residents of Turku can enjoy exercise and culture at a low price. The wristband and card encourages to do self-directed exercises. The wristband and the card allows to use the services according to own schedules and interests. The wristband is valid 4 months from the loading date.

Culture Path is based on the curriculum.
Culture Path is a plan according to which every student in the comprehensive schools of Turku visits various cultural locations three times per school year. For example libraries, concerts, theatres, Turku Castle and museums can be visited. In the second and eighth years students will also go to movies. The service areas subordinate to the Cultural Committee offer versatile cultural services to residents and tourists. The committee develops cultural services as well as promotes and supports cultural activity by providing financial assistance and grants to associations and artists from Turku.
In addition, the Cultural Committee makes decisions about common matters concerning more than one service area or unit within the Division.
The Cultural Committee consists of 13 members and an equal number of vice members chosen by the City Council for its operating period.

The Turku City Theatre was founded in 1946 and was the first fully municipal theatre in Finland. Experience Turku City Theatre shows at the temporary facilities of Logomo and Linna theatre.
Many open-air theatres give performances in summer. Summer theatres are very popular, so it is a good idea to purchase the tickets well in advance. Tickets can be purchased online for many theatres.
