The whole of Turku reads for the third time in October. The month-long campaign encourages reading to promote literacy. We are off to a flying start already on 28.9. with the publication of Dive into the Story, a handbook that provides tips to support literacy.

Turku participates in the nationwide Read Hour campaign and challenges all Turku residents to participate on 8 September 2020 from 14.00 to 15.00. Inspired by the campaign, the beginning of September in Turku is full of reading events and the library bridge will receive festive lighting during the event.

The City of Turku organised summer activities for children and adolescents. Summer activities mainly take place outside, online and at facilities of schools and youth centres. The City of Turku follows and obeys national coronavirus guidelines and takes care of hygiene measures in activities.

Welcome to playschools and playgrounds!

The Government’s recommendation to keep children at the age of early childhood education and care at home ended on 13 May 2020. The open services, playschools and playgrounds of the City of Turku early childhood education and care open on 18 May 2020. Open day care activities are closed until the end of July.
