If you arrive to Finland from Ukraine, you are allowed to stay for 90 days without a visa, apply for temporary protection or asylum. At the moment, it is best to apply for temporary protection. (Updated October 7th.)
La French Café opened last year November and the owners, French siblings Antoine and Clémentine Gorski, got a lot of help from International House Turku’s Business Advisor. The entrepreneurs are very pleased with the guidance they were given.
Turku is serving as one of the event’s host ports in the upcoming summer, when the big sailing ships come to Aura River between 18.-21.7.2024. Other host ports for the competition include Åland’s Mariehamn, Lithuania’s Klaipeda, Poland’s Szczecin, Finland’s Helsinki, and Estonia’s Tallinn. The ships will arrive to Turku from Tallinn. The tall ships’ race takes place in the Baltic Sea every four years.
Representatives from different organizations and communities in Turku gathered when the Local Stocktake event was held at the city hall on November 2. The event covered the most current updates on the city's climate efforts, and there was a dialogue on the topic. As an outcome dialogues highlighted concerns about the global situation and expressed hopes for a better culture of dialogue.
The summer exhibition, Anu Pentik – In the beginning there was a seed, showcases Pentik’s latest artistic works. In this narrative exhibition planned for the museum’s premises, ceramics skilfully transform into everything from floating seeds to charred trees according to themes related to the life cycle.
The City of Turku has been selected as one the hosting ports of the Tall Ships Races event in 2021. The selection highlights the maritime role of the City of Turku as a strong city of events and producer of experiences. Also the regional economic effects of the event and the impact on tourism are significant and long-standing.
