Turku Day Appro

On Turku Day all students have the opportunity to get to know their home town by participating in cheerful Turku Day Appro!

The City of Turku invites students to explore their hometown on Turku Day. The Appro is free of charge. At the Appro, participants visit different Turku Day events and collect stamps on their Appropass. After collecting enough stamps, participants will get overall badges for finishing their degree.

The Turku Day Appro is a fun and interesting way to get to know the city of Turku and to celebrate Turku Day with friends. There are many events participating in Turku Day Appro and they are all free of charge.There is no pre-registration for the Turku Day event, but maps will be distributed to the first 1000 participants at the info tent in the Old Great Square.

The execution time of appro is from 10 am to 6pm and the overall badges can be claimed with stamped maps by 6.30pm at the info tent. Completing the Appro requires 6 stamps, but there are also two higher diplomas for the hardest working students: junantuoma turkulaine (“arrived in Turku by train, not by birth”) patch is awarded with 9 stamps and paljasjalkane turkulaine (”Åboriginal, born and raised in Turku”) patch with 12 stamps. In addition, for those who have completed higher degrees in previous years, there is a brand new patch! 

Whether you've lived in Turku for a while or have recently moved to Turku, every student can be a paljasjalkane turkulaine! So jump on Föri and go on an adventure around the city!
