Located by the Aurajoki river, Turku Sports Park is an urban park that has long been an important place for those who enjoy sports and outdoor activities. The park is dominated by the Paavo Nurmi Stadium.

Sports Park is a sports and recreation area near Turku city centre that dates back to the 1890s. The park is the oldest sports area in Turku that is still used for its original purpose.

The main features of the park are the 4,000-seat Paavo Nurmi Stadium and the upper pitch. The area also has the Karikon lenkki jogging track, five tennis courts, two basketball courts, volleyball courts, a synthetic pitch, a gym, outdoor gym equipment, playgrounds and a disc golf course. In the winter, some of the park’s pitches are turned into ice rinks. The park’s pitches and other sports facilities are surrounded by a park-like environment.
