Turku Castle park surrounds the over 700-year-old Turku Castle, which is one of the greatest attractions in Finland.

Turku Castle park, located at the mouth of the Aurajoki river, gets its name from Turku Castle, which stands in the middle of the park. The impressive historic attraction lends a unique feel to the venue.

The park has often hosted events such as the Turku Castle tourney and large concerts featuring artists such as Karita Mattila, Tom Jones, Eva Dahlgren and Pet Shop Boys. The park has also been used as a finish area for sports events.

Transport links and parking: The venue is located about 3.5 km from Turku city centre. Visitors can arrive to the area by walking or cycling along the river. The park is within walking distance from the Port of Turku and its train station. The venue can be reached by local buses from both Turku city centre and the Port of Turku.

Practical considerations:

  • The area can host 1–2 large events during the summer season, as well as some additional noise-free events.
  • Access to the castle and the accommodation of the event to Turku Castle’s own events (weddings, meetings, etc.) must be negotiated with the Turku Museum Centre.
  • Event organisers must take into account Turku Castle, restaurants operations, the residential buildings next to the park, the residential buildings in Telakkaranta, the direction of the stage and the port traffic.
