There are two kinds of higher education institutions in Finland - universities and universities of applied sciences (UAS). The mission of universities is to conduct scientific research and provide instruction and postgraduate education based on it. UAS train professionals in response to labour market needs and conduct research and development which supports instruction and promotes regional development in particular.
Novia UAS is located at two addresses in Turku, at Henrikinkatu and Juhana Herttuan puistokatu where the maritime education is given. At Henrikinkatu there are students within several different fields. Prospective Bachelors of Social Services, Bachelors of Health Care, and Bachelors of Business Administration are gathered in the renovated campus.
Diaconia University of Applied Sciences' (Diak) Turku campus is located at Old Mill, Kupittaa. In Turku it is possible to study a Bachelor’s degree in interpretation through the programmes of Community Interpreting or Sign Language and Interpreting. Diak also offers Master level education in interpreting.
Turku University of Applied Sciences is an inspiring community of altogether 10 000 experts. You, too, can become a member through over 60 study options in the joint application every spring and autumn, or through the Open UAS path. At TUAS, you can study culture and the creative field, technology, social and health care or business.
