Daytime care
The City of Turku has an agreement with private veterinary clinics on the organisation of emergency veterinary services in the City of Turku area during office hours (weekdays from 08.00 to 16.00).
If the veterinarian’s office is unable to provide help quickly enough and your pet’s condition is acute, contact another veterinarian’s office that provides urgent care in Turku.
Private veterinary clinics charge a fee according to their price list.
Veterinary services for pets in Turku during office hours (weekdays 8-16) are provided to dogs, cats and other small pets by the following private veterinary centres:

Based on an agreement, the City of Lieto is responsible for the care of working and large animals. Municipal veterinarians have open call times for advice and appointments on weekdays from 08:00 to 09:00.
Working and large animals are primarily treated by municipal veterinarian Venla von Bagh, Tehdastie 2, 21530 Paimio, who works in the areas of Kaarina, Paimio and Sauvo, tel. +358 500 228 095.
On-call veterinary services outside office hours
The municipalities of Southwest Finland organise a joint emergency veterinary service outside office hours throughout Southwest Finland. The emergency services provide help with urgent treatment of your pet or working animal.
Papuvet Oy in Raisio offers emergency veterinary services for pets.
The City of Lieto is responsible for the on-call service for working animals in Southwest Finland.

The emergency services in the Turku region provide urgent emergency first aid for pets as agreed by municipalities during on-call hours.
On-call hours: On weekdays from 16:00 to 8:00 and on weekends 24 hours a day. In addition, on public holidays.
The service does not cover:
- Non-urgent veterinary care or specialised medical care
- Non-urgent follow-up after first aid

Three veterinarians are on call for working and large animals in Southwest Finland.
- If your working animal needs urgent care, call the helpline at the emergency clinic at 0600 041 451 (0,71 €/min + local network charge)
- When you call the emergency clinic, select your area according to the instructions given on the phone.
- Your call will be directed to the on-call veterinarian in the selected area.

- Aura, Kaarina, Koski TL, Lieto, Loimaa, Marttila, Oripää, Pargas, Pöytyä and Turku
- Kustavi, Laitila, Masku, Mynämäki, Naantali, Nousiainen, Pyhäranta, Raisio, Rusko, Taivassalo, Uusikaupunki and Vehmaa.
Each area has one on-call veterinarian. The on-call veterinarians cooperate with each other so that the veterinarian who is free or closest to the customer can come to the patient.
