Special study tracks in upper secondary schools

In special tracks you can get specialised education in certain subjects. In a special track you can get more advanced and applied study units for a subject than in the general track. You can also earn credits to replace mandatory study units with goal-oriented activities.

In the upper secondary schools of Turku you can study in the following special tracks:

• Sports Track
• Music Track
• Expressive Arts Track
• ICT Track
• IB Track
• Natural Sciences track
• Marine Track

You can apply to an upper secondary school special track with a basic education certificate or its equivalent.

The students are chosen based on the average of their grades in theoretical subjects and based on skills required by the track. You can find more information about the application requirements from the schools’ website.

You can apply to upper secondary education via the joint application system. The joint application happens in the Studyinfo service during the spring.
