Current air quality
The Finnish Meteorological Institute compiles and publishes air quality information centrally throughout the country. You can view the current air quality status on the map. You can also select data from different measurement stations and information about different compounds that impair air quality.
You can find the current pollen levels in the pollen forecasting service of the University of Turku.
Information on exceeded threshold values
When air pollutants exceed safe limit values, Turku’s Environmental Protection notifies the public by publishing the information on the city’s website and issuing a separate media release.
The highest number of instances where limit values are exceeded typically occur in late winter, when there may be more street dust in the air. This is especially the case at the Market Square measurement station.
