Relax at the beach

You can swim all year round in Turku at beaches. The City of Turku maintains nine beatches and three swimming places. In a coastal city you can also take a dip into the sea during winter. Winter swimming places are maintained by outside service providers for the City of Turku.

Beach surveillance from 1 June to 15 August

During summertime the beaches of Ekvalla, Ispoinen, Kaarle Knuutinpoika and Ruissalo Saaronniemi are supervised. Uinti Turku ry is responsible for beach surveillance at all sites.

Good to know before you swim

There are no limitations for using the beaches.

The Health Protection at the City of Turku is monitoring the hygiene and water quality at the public beaches during the swimming season. The results and any discoveries of blue-green algae is reported on the City's website and on site at the beaches.
