Applying for a grant
Who can apply for a grant?
As a rule, communities, working groups and other actors that organise activities in Turku can apply for the grant.
When to apply for the grant?
You can apply for a targeted special grant for all year round. The Health and Well-being Promotion Committee processes the applications twice a year, depending on the number of applications received.
What can the grant be used for?
Typically, the grant supports one-off events, activities and projects not included in the action plan. We may also provide grants for unforeseen or small-scale acquisitions that arise during the operational year. The supported activities must promote the well-being of the residents.
Grants are awarded on a discretionary basis, with the amount depending on the available budget and the number of applications.
In general, targeted grants do not cover:
- Activities in accordance with the association’s action plan or annually recurring events. Operating grants support regular activities: Operating grants for non-profit organisations
- Travel and accommodation costs, rental costs, or other similar costs
- Major purchases or the setup of furniture for the first time
The grant can cover up to 50% of the eligible costs, with a maximum limit of EUR 20,000. Designated officials make decisions regarding grants under EUR 1,000, while the Health and Well-being Promotion Committee decides on the larger grants.
