Who is the service meant for and where is it located?
The Seafaring Employment Service has been centralised to the Turku Employment Region. It serves maritime job seekers living in Finland and maritime employers operating in Finland. The Seafaring Employment Service helps with acquiring and renewing all kinds of maritime certificates of competency and proficiency. The Service can also arrange for labour market training with a maritime focus for jobseekers from other Employment Areas than Turku Employment Region.
How to
You do not have to register separately as a jobseeker with the Seafaring Employment Service if your job search is valid. In the E-services, you should make sure that your job seeker profile has all the information that shipping companies usually need when recruiting. For example, it is important to highlight the qualifications and special qualifications that are currently valid.
Getting labour market training as a client from other Employment Areas always requires a discussion in advance with an expert at the Seafaring Employment Service.
